film-making wkshop

I just came back from Malacca on Sunday. It was a wonderful trip, 3 families drove all the way there. We shopped and ate many Malacca delights, like Peranakan food, chendol etc. Yummy! I love chendol!!! =D weE!

Today, I woke up at 7.05am, can you imagine? it's a holiday, and I woke up so early, hahaz.. well done, Sand. lol-_- I couldn't sleep last night, was wide awake after playing a round of scrabble with parents. haha, then was excited to go to school for the film-making workshop, met JC at 8. 30am and rushed to school. The first part of the workshop was so boring, it was the theory part of using the camera, and the camera angles and shots. The powerpint presentation was so long and draggy. Jc and I almost slept through the entire presentation... but it was interesting to learn quite a lot on the basic skills in handling camera, the angle shots etc. The first activity for the day was rather exciting, every group were given scripts and we had to act it out and play around with the camera angles for all the scenes. Firstly, our groups did storyboarding, we had to draw out everything that we wrote out in words for the scene as in terms of how we are going to shoot it. The creativity part came in, and afterwhich , we proceeded with the shooting of the entire script. We made used of all the skills that the yr 2's taught us and with the help of my other fellow members help, we managed to come out with the various camera shots for every scene. I think that we did a good job by focusing on certain objects and playing around with the different camera angles etc. We took an hour to complete the entire shooting of the script/acting. =) The 2nd activity of the day, was for us to shoot a 1 minute film on a particular emotion we want to convey to the audience for them to guess. My group did a fantastic job, by playing around with the lightings and the camera angles as to portray the emotions we want to show to the fellow students. The emotion I did was nervousness, Jc acted like a spastic child, alex acted like someone who is in a confused state of mind, Eunice acted solitude and lastly, Krishna acted the emotion-contempt.haha =D It was indeed well done. We wrapped up everything by doing a post that represent our characters and the emotion that we shot previously. The entire 5 minute film was enjoyable and hilarious, esp: Jc's spastic child like look and behavior was amazing! Alex's background of the "flashing of the on-off lightings' was well done-showing the state of confusion clearly. It was lovely working with my team-mates. Tml's there's the workshop once again! weE! glad, ecstatic about it!WhooooOOOO!!! I can't wait to produce my own short film! hahahaa =D It shall come true! Amen! :)
